+ Do I have to be a homeopath to sign up for this class?
No. This class is for anyone who loves the natural world. It is for those curious, willing and eager to look at their lives through the lens of a variety of homeopathic remedies sourced from nature. This could suit homeopaths, and it could suit anyone interested in learning about this holistic modality just as well.
+ Can I try this remedy if I feel it fits my symptom picture?
No. I would suggest you see a highly qualified and registered homeopath before you take any remedy yourself. A homeopath will be able to properly assess what needs to be cured for you and will prescribe a remedy that fits your unique case.
+ Do I have to be an artist or know how to paint or draw to join this class?
Absolutely not. In fact I believe we are all artists at heart. Remember most of us learned how to draw before we learned how to write as children. I will walk you through the painting process step by step. You will create your very own unique mixed media painting by the end of this course which will hold special meaning for you.
+ Can I share this course with my friends, children and loved ones?
No. This course is for your individual access and viewing only. If your friends would like to join in, I would urge you to encourage them to sign up for the course.
+ Can I access the course via phone or iPad?
+ Can I download the videos?
No but you have lifetime access to them so you can watch them as many times as you please!
+ Can I sell the painting I create in this class?
I commend you for your entrepreneurial spirit! While I encourage you to find your unique creative voice, the issue of integrity arises here. It is natural and assumed that your artwork may look a lot like mine as you are learning my way of approaching this painting. That is perfectly fine for study purposes. However, art entails finding our own unique creative voice and style. This takes time and practice. It is therefore not permissible to sell your artwork by copying my style. All content is protected by intellectual property rights.
+ Are the materials safe?
I tend to get my hands messy with paint, gel medium etc. However, the materials can be hazardous if not used properly. I urge you to read the safety instructions on any art supplies you decide to use before diving into your creative practice, particularly if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. I do sometimes wear gloves while painting and apply a thick barrier cream before I begin as I find the paint tends to dry my skin.
+ How much space do I need in my home for painting?
All you need is some space on your desk or kitchen table. We will be working on small canvases in this course.
+ I’ve never ever painted can I still join this class?
Of course you can! This class walks you through the painting process step by step. It is suitable for beginners and more experienced artists alike.
+ I’ve never taken an online class before. Can you tell me how this works?
This is a self-paced class so you can dive into the course material at your own pace at whatever time suits you.
+ Can I contact other members also taking this course?
Yes. You will have access to the private Your Inner Compass Facebook Group where you can connect and share your experiences as well as your artwork with like-minded souls. This platform will remain open indefinitely (as long as Facebook is still up and running!)
+ Can I ask questions directly to Sara?
Sara will not be able to answer every question directed to her but will do her best to check into the private Your Inner Compass Facebook Group twice monthly. However, the Facebook forum is a wonderful place to ask and receive feedback from fellow students.
For technical questions we will be happy to help you Sunday-Thursday. Simply email us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will get back to you as soon as possible!
+ Do I need a high speed internet connection to view the course videos?
Yes. The videos in fact are a significant learning aspect in this course. We are not able to provide alternative viewing options for customers with slow internet connections. Moreover, we are unfortunately unable to provide refunds if you are having problems watching the videos due to your slow internet connection. So please make sure your internet connections are up to speed before beginning this course.
+ How do I access the course material?
You will have access to the course material upon signing up. Immediately after signing up you will be emailed a PDF that has the course password and all information needed to get started.
+ What happens if the course doesn’t show up properly on my phone, tablet or desktop?
Fly Free was designed to be viewable on a wide range of devices. This includes desktops, phones and tablets. If you’re experiencing issues with how the course is looking or working, please reach out to email@example.com.
+ What is your refund policy?
Unfortunately, we are unable to provide refunds once you sign up for this course. Thank you for your understanding.
+ Safety and liability waiver release
It is your responsibility to read the safety instructions carefully before using any of the supplies mentioned in this course.
This is just a suggested list of art materials that I enjoy using and thought I’d share with you. There is absolutely no need to go out and buy a long list of supplies! Please feel free to scavenge around your home and find whatever creative tools you have lying around. Remember, you can use almost anything for mark making including, twigs, leaves, old pens, sponges and simply your fingers! I prefer to mix my own colours but feel free to buy whatever colours you crave. I love making a deep almost black colour by mixing Prussian Blue & Alizarin Crimson (for a warm black) and Phthalo Green & Alizarin Crimson (for a cool black). In this painting, I used the following colours:
Permanent Violet Dark
My mix of grey – make your own pot by putting all your leftover paint in a pot. Add all colours except for black.
