I resonate with the Tuareg warriors. Perhaps it has something to do with my martial arts background. A few years ago, I was sitting as calmly as possible, waiting for my turn to take my 6th Dan gradings in Jodo, the classical Japanese art of wielding the staff or Jo. After this very intense experience, someone, who was watching the grading, came up to me and told me I reminded him of a Tuareg warrior. I took it as a compliment. This painting is inspired by Heinz Homatsch’s photo.
