How do you View Time?

How do you View Time?

Greetings to all!

Happy New Year everyone!  I'm so excited to share my thoughts and creative tips with you all.

Art has transformed my life in so many wonderful ways.  I hope it will do the same for you. The theme that has been on my mind recently is time.

The end of the year can be such a busy and stressful period that by the time the New Year rolls in, you're in overdrive mode and left feeling exhausted.  So what is your relationship to time?  Do you feel like you have all the time in the world or are you strapped for time and find yourself rushing around all day?

If there's one thing I've realised, it's that when things get busy and there are deadlines to meet, we easily get pulled out of our centres.  We end up rushing towards this or that and forget that what's really most important is the present moment.  Well there is a way to remedy that.  Make art!

How do you View Time?

Making art stills the mind like nothing else I've experienced.  It brings you right into the present moment.  From this place, everything is possible.  I always feel so energised after a painting session.  So my New Year's resolution for when I find myself rushing is to stop, take a deep breath, savour the moment and even if it's just a few minutes, make some art.  Why don't you try it?  I hope you all enjoy the process.  Working with colour is simply a magical experience!

Quote of the month

"In the pursuit of learning, every day something is acquired.

In the pursuit of Tao, every day something is dropped.

Less and less is done

Until non-action is achieved.

When nothing is done, nothing is left undone.

The world is ruled by letting things take their course.

It cannot be ruled by interfering."

(Lao Tsu)
